Young girls are practicing music in a room. There is a drum-set and a piano there. Recorded with olympus vn-120, which is basically designed for taking voice memo. Drum beats are compressed by a little electronic circuit built in vn-120's tiny body. The mere thought of it just impresses me.

At 140 bpm, this is 1/4th of a bar long instead of just 1/8th of a bar long, so it is better for custom break beats.

Recorded some messages from my phone into audacity and added effects such as phaser and delay. Improvised over top of the messages with distorted tr606 beats.

Recording of live kick drum that was gently hand-tapped with a plastic club. Recording was then reversed and processed through compressor, eq, flanger, gentle distortion and slight reverbation, to produce something almost but not quite entirely unlike an approximation of the beating of a human heart.

A compilation of accidental recordings or recordings of terrible quality i made, with the pops and crackles and interesting parts all together. I think if rearranged this could be useful for making vinyl, analog sounding drum beats. I used a similar strategy for making my chai tea drums- https://freesound. I used the "the challenge. Wav" base (id: 561988) and made a simple melody with a synth, added effects and some beats. I used some fl studio effects: reverb, echo, distortion, equalization, amplify, low-fi effect, low-pass, drums and synthesizer. Amazing challenge as always, thanks badoink.

A heartbeat sound i created. Fairly consistent through most of it, and then speeds up into heart-attack mode about 30 seconds from the end. To make it, i took a kick-drum sample and a snare-drum sample, and made a pattern of kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-snare, over and over. I then eq'd them to be less distinct and drum-like, added tape saturation to increase the low-end thumping, a small chorus effect and some compression to get rid of the drums' attack. . . Basically just over-processed the hell out of it. Then i used a plugin called wok m-st to get a fake hard-panned stereo effect. My goal was to make it sound like your heartbeat sounds in your ears when you've been running too fast for too long. I think it sounds cool.

Made on Ableton Live with freeware softsynths and included Ableton instruments and shared copyright free for any use from educational to commercial. The stems have also been shared. Track 1 uses the free MiniSpillage drum softsynth. Track 2 uses the free OB-Xd softsynth for the pads. Track 3 uses Ableton's Analog softsynth for the bass line. Track 4 uses u-he's free Tyrell N-6 softsynth for the lead melody.
